MA Law

Overview

A Master of Arts (MA) in Law is a postgraduate degree program that focuses on providing students with an advanced understanding of legal principles and practices. Unlike traditional LLB (Bachelor of Laws) programs, which are undergraduate degrees, the MA in Law is designed for individuals who already hold an undergraduate degree in a non-law discipline but wish to gain legal knowledge and expertise.

  1. Legal Systems and Institutions: Students learn about the structure and functions of legal systems, including the courts, legislative bodies, and administrative agencies.

  2. Legal Research and Writing: Developing skills in legal research, analysis, and writing is an essential part of the program. Students learn how to find and interpret legal sources and present legal arguments effectively.

  3. Specialized Electives: Depending on the university and program, students may have the opportunity to choose elective courses in areas such as family law, international law, environmental law, human rights law, or intellectual property law.
